What is NC RTTAC? Northern California Regional Terrorism Threat Assessment Center (NC RTTAC)
is a local, state and federal cooperative law enforcement information fusion center. The center provides a central location for the collection, evaluation, analysis and dissemination of terrorism and homeland security related information.
The NC RTTAC operates in partnership with federal, state and local public safety agencies including: Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) and Field Intelligence Group (FIG), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), United States Coast Guard (USCG) -Field Intelligence Support Team (FIST), State Terrorism Threat Assessment Center (STTAC), California Office of Homeland Security (CA OHS), California Department of Justice (CA DOJ) - Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB), California Highway Patrol (CHP), Bay Area Terrorism Early Warning Groups (TEWG), San Mateo Sheriff's Office (SMSO), San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and San Francisco Sheriff's Department (SFSD).
The NC RTTAC functions to facilitate effective two-way communication between the FBI, STTAC, TEWG, OHS, and the public safety community within the region.
The NC RTTAC also:

produces and disseminates intelligence products
- conducts training
- establishes and maintains liaison with state and local public safety personnel operating in the Bay Area and Northwest Coast of California
- encourages the use of the California Joint Regional Information Exchange System (CAL JRIES) web portal @

The NC RTTAC works in to encourage the legal sharing of information to assist local, state and federal agencies with the mission of protecting the citizens of California from the dangers of terrorist related crimes.
Why NC RTTAC is needed?
With the cooperation of the law enforcement community, the NC RTTAC can provide a comprehensive intelligence product offering officers a regional picture of trends and patterns of reported incidents of suspicious activities of potential terrorist operations within their respective jurisdictions. The NC RTTAC also serves as a counter terrorism training resource to the law enforcement community, as well as an FBI, DHS and OHS point of contact for all agencies within the RTTAC's fifteen county area of responsibility.
Who Should Participate?
Any public safety agency, private sector organization or corporate partner within the NC RTTAC Region (See The NC RTTAC Territory) that might benefit by receiving information regarding comprehensive, counter terrorism intelligence products, training and investigative resources.

Intelligence is a vital key to the "War on Terrorism" and combating threats to public safety. Becoming a partner in the NC RTTAC program has several benefits:
